Virtual Office Hours for Cottrell Scholar Applicants
Research Corporation for Science Advancement will offer two virtual Cottrell Scholar Office Hours sessions to help potential applicants prepare for the upcoming July 1, 2024, deadline for Cottrell Scholar Award proposals.
Following a short presentation on the Cottrell Scholar program and its goals, the award selection process, and tips for effective proposal preparation, Senior Program Director Silvia Ronco will be available for questions.
To accommodate the largest possible number of attendees, there will be two sessions:
- 9 – 10 a.m. Pacific Time (noon – 1 p.m. Eastern) Thursday, May 16, 2024
- 11 a.m. – noon Pacific Time (2 p.m. – 3 p.m. Eastern) Friday, May 17, 2024
The sessions will use a flipped classroom format with the following prereading assignment: Cottrell Scholar Awards Power Point
For the 2024 proposal cycle, Cottrell Scholar Awards are available to faculty from chemistry, physics and astronomy departments who started their faculty careers in 2021. The Cottrell Scholar program is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive community of teacher-scholars who, collectively, can make a difference in the way science is taught in the United States and Canada.
