Seaphire was a start-up company based in Phoenix, Arizona. Their focus was the development of an “integrated seawater farm,” dedicated to the environmentally sound production of shrimp, tilapia and other products. The company hoped to solve problems related to declining water tables, loss of arable land, failing fisheries and decreasing biodiversity, plus bolster the economy of Eritrea, Africa, a struggling third world country. The project was short-lived.
